  • And other low speed vehicles

North American requirements according to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)

FMVSS No. 139 covers pneumatic radial tires for light vehicles other than motorcycles and low speed vehicles (GVWR less than or equal to 10,000 lbs). The standard specifies tire dimensions used on passenger cars and establishes minimum requirements for sidewall labeling, tire strength, resistance to bead unseating, endurance, and high-speed performance.

FMVSS No. 119 establishes similar requirements for multipurpose passenger vehicle, truck, bus, trailer, and motor cycle tires. All of the requirements of these standards can be performed at Smithers.
