Smithers Promotes Polymer Materials Testing Expert Amanda Cool To Chemistry Lab Supervisor

(Akron, Ohio) – March 31, 2022 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announces that Amanda Cool has been promoted to Chemistry Lab Supervisor.
Cool will oversee the Smithers chemistry laboratory in Akron, Ohio, including wet chemistry and the chromatography and spectrometry lab. She will ensure smooth and high-quality execution of client testing projects and manage a team of chemists. Her role will include ongoing responsibility for all dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) testing for clients.
Cool will be responsible for developing and launching new material characterization and benchmarking services and identifying opportunities for capability expansion.

Cool joined Smithers in 2015 as a physical and chemical testing technician. She held the roles of quality assurance specialist and DMA test engineer before being promoted to chemistry lab supervisor. Prior to joining Smithers, she was a laboratory technician at Radici Group.

Cool has a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from the University of Akron.
