Multi-client: The Future of Packaging Coatings to 2030

As many brand owners are migrating to paper-based alternatives, how will this impact demand for various packaging coatings used on the market? In this multi-client study, subscribers are invited to steer the focus of the research; to determine how packaging coating consumption is evolving and harness the opportunities for growth.

Table of Contents
Packaging coatings play a critical role in enhancing the performance, functionality, and sustainability of packaging across various formats including flexible packaging, paper & board, printed labels, and folding cartons. As brands and manufacturers seek to improve product shelf life, visual appeal, and recyclability, coatings provide essential properties such as barrier protection, heat resistance, gloss, and print adhesion. Key to growth is understanding the general performance criteria required for most of the market, which requires in-depth insight on the selection factors of customers (beyond cost and barrier performance). This enables suppliers to identify the bigger growth opportunities.

Now is the optimal time to undertake a comprehensive analysis of the packaging coatings market. The Future of Packaging Coatings to 2030 will be the definitive market study on global flexible packaging adhesives and coatings.

The scope of the study includes:
  • Global market demand segmented by key packaging formats, including flexible packaging, paper & board, printed labels, and folding cartons
  • Quantify the market for packaging coatings (volume in m² and value in USD) with forecasts through to 2030
  • Segment the market by coating chemistry, coating type, packaging format, end-use application, region, and key national markets
  • Technology roadmap outlining developments and demand for packaging coatings
  • Analysis of coating functions, performance criteria, and the substrates to which coatings are applied
