Event Overview

The textile industry is experiencing a shift towards sustainability, driven by environmental concerns and increasing consumer demand for more ethical and eco-friendly products. The transitioning to a circular economy is crucial for addressing textile waste.

The scale is massive. The EU generates 12.6 million tonnes of textile waste per year. Only a relatively small proportion is collected for reuse or recycling. Only 2% of European post-consumer textiles are converted by fibre-to-fibre recycling.

The sustainable textile webinar is an exciting new event aimed to discuss market trends, latest legislation, material innovations, scale circularity, new recycling technologies and product innovations in the textile industry.

We will discuss upcoming new EU legislations, how to meet the textile 2030 targets, sharing best practice and potential solutions on sustainability, sustainable supply chain transformation and consumer expectations.

The online event will also highlight the explosive growth in technology and applications for sustainable textile cellulose fibres and focus on a wide range of latest market trends, material developments, innovative end uses and markets. These innovations are set to revolutionise many retail and industrial/medical markets over the coming years.

Cellulose fibres are already a mass fibre category with 175 million tonnes consumed annually, largely for paper and board. Cellulose fibres are also significant in textile markets with major cellulosic or regenerated fibres such as viscose and lyocell. The cellulose fibre industry is constantly evolving with important new innovations in fibre technologies and in and recovery/regeneration of previously used textiles. Sustainability is at the heart of these developments.
