Webinar: Minimising Risk in Recycled Food Contact Materials | A Beginner's Guide

Webinar: Minimising Risk in Recycled Food Contact Materials | A Beginner's Guide

Overview

Food packaging manufacturers and brand owners are seeing a continual focus on using increased levels of alternative and recycled materials in packaging designs. These materials could contain potentially harmful waste contaminants and non-intentionally added substances (NIAS).

The presence of contaminants in recycled food contact plastics is a significant challenge for brand owners and packaging manufacturers, as they bring health and regulatory challenges and have recently been the focus of media attention. Expert testing is needed to identify their presence and is a requirement to comply with Article 19 of Regulation EU 10/2011.

The webinar covers:

  • Why using recycled materials requires extra considerations in food contact materials.
  • What guidance/legislation to follow.
  • How to identify and risk assess contaminants in recycled plastics.
