As part of an ongoing mission to increase capabilities and capacity to meet client needs, Smithers has added a twenty-foot cold storage chamber to its
distribution testing laboratory in Lansing, Michigan.
The new chamber offers expanded storage space for cold
food products, such as ice cream or frozen packaged meals, which streamlines the delivery process of samples for testing.
“This investment offers a new level of convenience to our customers who send us large volumes of product for testing. We can now accommodate more pallets at once, which means there are fewer shipments to coordinate,” said
Michael Kuebler, Technical Director, Distribution Testing, Smithers. “This will translate to better lead times for our clients as well.”
The chamber has an increased temperature range, down to -35°C, which will allow for more flexibility.
