(Akron, OH) – April 19, 2023 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, recently appointed Joel Allcock as Business Development Manager of Smithers Massachusetts and New Jersey Cannabis Testing Services laboratories, which offer compliance and specialized testing services that include:
Joel will support the Massachusetts and New Jersey labs by providing clients with high-touch customer service. Joel will work with cultivators and manufacturers to ensure they receive timely compliance testing to meet regulatory requirements.
Joel has 17 years of extensive cannabis expertise working with multi-state operators and cultivators. “Joel comes from a cannabis testing background and brings strong technical expertise to our cannabis testing team.
Joel understands how important it is that our clients receive accurate and reliable data, on time,” said AJ McCardell, President of Smithers Cannabis Testing Services division. “With his extensive cannabis background and passion for the industry, he will be a great asset to our cannabis clients.”
Before joining the team at Smithers, Joel worked at Acreage Holdings as the National Director of Cultivation and Integrated Pest Management where he managed eight cultivation and processing facilities nationwide and implemented Hop Latent Viroid testing in all Acreage facilities. Prior, he spent nearly 15 years in roles focused on large scale, commercial cannabis cultivation and operations consulting.
Joel also serves on the Advisory board of the Cannabis Education and Research Institute, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to education and research relating to the therapeutic use of medicinal cannabis.
