Smithers Appoints New Finance Business Partner for Environmental Risk Sciences

(Wareham, Massachusetts)  –  Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, appointed Luis Contreras as Finance Business Partner, Environmental Risk Sciences, North America. In this role, Luis manages finance, providing the leadership team with insights and supporting business strategy, as well as directing departmental accounting functions.

Before joining Smithers, Luis worked at B.GOOD LLC as a Finance Manager implementing process improvement practices before taking on a senior management role of Financial Planning & Analysis. He developed models to guide the company through restructuring and managed daily cash fluctuations.
 
After he earned a BBA in International Business Administration from Tecnológica de Monterrey, Aguascalientes, Mexico, and an MS in Management Finance from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, Luis analyzed performance and resource allocation before joining the Global Business Services team of Burger King Corporation, Miami, FL. After an intensive management training program, he stepped into Analyst and then Senior Analyst roles, which included a broad range of financial responsibilities.
