Using HR-LCMS and GC-MS/MS for non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) analysis from plastic food contact materials

In this poster Smithers experts look at a workflow using HR-LCMS and GC-MS/MS for non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) analysis.

In order to ensure food packaging compliance, manufacturers of plastic food contact materials are required to conduct migration studies, in accordance to the relevant regulatory requirements. There is also a requirement to undertake a risk evaluation to assess whether non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) are present.

This technical poster demonstrates a NIAS assessment workflow using HR-LCMS and GC-MS/MS as the analytical techniques.
